Golden Goose Deluxe Brand is something I’ve always admired. They were established in the year 2000 after bringing together the talents of Francesca Rinaldo and Alessandro Gallo in Italy. Over the years, they have evolved into a worldwide designer brand with boutiques worldwide, and it’s one that fashion fans can’t resist.
I’ve followed Golden Goose for ages and I would often look through what FarFetch had, as they always had an curated selection, but I never ended up getting any because I always found them a bit pricey and looked too similar to Converse, so they were always on my mental wishlist. A couple of years ago, Adam was the one who was the early fan and he actually got his first pair of their Superstar sneakers last year, which was what inspired me to look into them more. Seeing his pair up close and noticing that no two pairs are alike because they’re artisanal, I was more intrigued. As the Golden Goose Superstar sneakers are deliberately worn-looking and made to appear vintage, they are all hand done so each one is different. Some have stronger distressing than others, so there’s a whole spectrum.
If you’re buying at a store, it might be a good idea to ask to see a few of the same shoe and choose from them, but if you’re ordering online, you have to roll the dice!The pair of sneakers that I originally fell in love with first are the ones above in the main image, as they’ve been in rotation a long time, but I never ended up purchasing them.
I actually ended up getting the Shopbop-exclusive silver pair, and they’re a pair I have styled multiple times (see here and my Golden Goose review here). I really enjoy them! I bought another pair the same and customized them golden goode with black laces and a burgundy star, so they’re really fun! I also own a pair of velvet burgundy Golden Goose, and two pairs of high tops! I do definitely want a new black version, but I have a pair of Converse in black canvas, so I’m not sure I should get both, even though they’re different.
